No, but we highly recommend players participate in our Tuesday Foundation practices to help build confidence and skill set. On average a child has the ball in their hands a total of 5 minutes on a game day. Players will spend all 50 minutes of Foundation practices are 50 minutes of ball-handling, passing and shooting.
We want your child to have the best experience possible, so we understand playing with friends always helps! Unfortunately we cannot guarantee multiple requests, so we ask that you list 3 friends and we will make sure at least one friend request is granted. We do not friend requests for 3rd-4th Grade leagues. When there 5+ players from the same school, we like to split the group up and pair with players from other schools. The criteria for making teams are 1.) One mutual friend request 2.) balanced teams and 3.) School/City
Our leagues have a wide-range of skill, from beginners to advanced. We do our best to create balanced teams, but it's our coaches ability to connect and appropriately challenge every player. Players have different skill sets and strengths that are required in order for teams to be successful.
Girls are always welcome to play! We have many girls join us for Schoolyard Sports enrichment classes. However, we have noticed that most girls feel more confident and eager to participate in all-girl classes and leagues. Please head over to our "sister" program - North Shore Stars!
We currently do not offer private training through Finish Strong Kids, but some coaches do have availability and are willing to help on their personal time. Please reach out if you would like a specific coaches contact info.
We recommend children play at their grade level for at least one season. Please contact Coach Ed directly if you feel your child would be more appropriately challenged in programming a grade level up.
